Win National Award
Neighbors Take a Bite Out of Crime

April 13, 2001 - Congratulations! Due in large-part to the supportive efforts of many neighborhood families, Greater Indianapolis and Marion County recently received the "National Award" from the National Association of Town Watch for its participation in the 17th Annual "National Night Out Against Crime" celebration.
Marion County was chosen a winner among cities, with a population of 250,000 or more, who took part in NNO 2000. These communities, from within all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide, chose to play a part in making their neighborhoods safer from crime by sending a message to criminals that they are organized and fighting back.
Jeff Rayman, DTCA Crime Watch Committee Chair, recently received a certificate for Delaware Trails from Marion County Sheriff Jack Cottey as a token of appreciation for the hard work and diligence with which we helped make Greater Indianapolis one of the most active NNO participants in the country.
