DELAWARE TRAILS HIT BY VANDALISM AGAIN

Late Night Car Torching Escalates
Problem To New Level
August 7, 2001 - On Friday, August 3, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a vehicle owned by Mike and Adrienne Mintz was set ablaze by vandals. The incident occurred in their well-lit driveway while they were sleeping inside their home at 1301 Alimingo Drive.

Witnesses to the incident, who happen to be taking a late night walk, roused Mr. and Mrs. Mintz and the surrounding neighbors and then called the fire department.

Flames consumed the vehicle and destroyed it. The fire department managed to contain the blaze before the vehicle's gas tank exploded.

No one was injured and no other property was damaged. The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident, believing it to be a case of arson.

If you noticed any suspicious activity in our neighborhood around the time of the incident, you should inform the Sheriff's office of what you saw by calling 327-3811.

Several other incidents of vandalism to neighborhood mailboxes have also been reported recently. All Delaware Trails residents are urged to always be alert and report any suspicious activity in the neighborhood to the Marion County Sheriff's Department and your DTCA Crime Watch Block Captain immediately.
