Gun Shots Heard in Field
Sheriff Notified

August 23, 2001 - This past weekend, the president of the Delaware Oaks Civic Association – the neighborhood association of the sub-division to the southeast of Delaware Trails – called the Marion County Sheriff's Department, after hearing shots fired from the direction of the Christ Church Apostolic property.
"I myself heard two shotgun blasts this past weekend, but could not see anyone through the fence." reported Jeff Olbina, DOCA president, "I called a Marion County Sheriff who will patrol the area from time to time."
Mr. Olbina expressed his concern for the safety of residents, especially those with children and pets, living in homes adjacent to the church property. He reported that some of his neighbors told him of other gunfire incidents in the field, and that the incidents occur most frequently during the weekday work hours.
