OPERATION NIGHTLIFE
IS UNDERWAY

Front yard lamp posts and energy-saving bulbs combine for brighter, safer neighborhood.
November 29, 2000 - Knock, knock. Anybody home? The DTCA Neighborhood Crime Watch Block Captains will be out in full force knocking on doors during December. Their mission is to personally inform all of our residents about Operation Night Light. They will have a hand-out for each home, along with a brief description of this Crime Watch safety campaign.

Increasing Safety While Decreasing Cost

In a nutshell, we are trying to brighten the neighborhood at night while avoiding the inconvenience and cost of having IPL install additional street lights. By using the existing front yard lamp posts along with new, brighter, long-lasting, energy-efficient fluorescent light bulbs, we believe we can greatly improve night-time visibility and safety, while lowering long-term energy costs.

Better Informed For Better Decisions

In addition to talking about Operation Night Light, your block captain will ask you just a few questions, so the board of directors can get a better idea of the needs and desires in the neighborhood. Some of the topics they will ask about include the emergency needs of our seniors and singles, driveway snow removal assistance and an association e-mailing list.
