Letter From the President - Autumn 2002

Dear Neighbors,

It just amazes me what a difference a few months make in our neighborhood. When I last sat down to write you, I remember being thankful for our mature trees and the relief they were giving us during our incredibly hot summer. Now as my wife Vera and I walk the neighborhood, our eyes are treated to the tremendously vibrant colors of the Indiana Fall I love so much. And there's still a lot of color out there, so why not get out the next day you are home and walk our beautiful Trails!

I made an unforgivable error at our general membership meeting in September. I failed to publicly thank the outgoing Board members. Thus, at this time I would like to give scores of thanks and richly deserved recognition to Bob Stedron, Mary Ann Nowlin, Jill Litherland and Andy Richardson for their two years of service to the DTCA Board of Directors. We all appreciate your leadership and contributions! Thank you.

Your current DTCA Board is working hard and continuing to focus on safety, communications, beautifying the neighborhood and making Delaware Trails "Not just a neighborhood, a community!" Another focus this Winter is snow and ice removal. Knowing that we were very lucky to have virtually no snow last year, we are concentrating on an effective plan to not only provide the best snow service, but to address dangerous ice at major intersections.

Thanks to all of my neighbors who have written letters or called to bring up concerns or just thank us for our efforts. The Board and I appreciate your comments, keep them coming! And on behalf of the entire Board, I want to wish you the most wonderful Holiday Season and a truly Happy New Year!

See you in the neighborhood,

David Kirch, DTCA President
