DTCA Board Plans to Re-Dig a Well, Before We’re Thirsty!

No we haven’t lost our senses, but just like the logic of digging a well before you’re thirsty, your DTCA board has set a goal to reenergize our Neighborhood Crimewatch Program before it is needed.

Many years ago, past DTCA boards did such a wonderful job of organizing the Neighborhood Crimewatch Program that we could easily forget we had a rash of break-ins and vandalism at one time in our neighborhood. While many of the good habits begun under the program still are practiced today, our hope is that additional focus this year will strengthen our crime fighting skills and continue to keep crime in Delaware Trails a distant memory.

Therefore, if you were a Crimewatch Block Captain before, look for DTCA Safety Director Mack Blackburn or Operations Director Bob Bowers to be contacting you to review your roles and responsibilities. If your block is without a Crimewatch Block Captain, look for a member of the Board of Directors to come knocking on your door this Spring to ask for your support of this proven program.

The DTCA board will invite a representative of the Sheriff’s Department this summer to address our membership and the neighborhoods to the north and south of us. Our goal is that by the end of the summer, every resident will have been visited by their Block Captain and reviewed how the program works. Thank you in advance for your support!
