Meeting was called to order by Scott Dennison at 7:15 p.m.

Scott explained that Dave Kirch, John Carter, and Bob Stedron were out of town on business.

1.         Minutes from the last meeting of January 7, 2002 were read and approved.

2.         David Johnston’s nomination to the board as treasurer to replace David Lumley was voted on and unanimously approved.

3.         Final plan’s are underway for “DTCA goes to the movies”.  Jill Litherland reported that she would be in contact with the manager at Greenbriar Cinema Grill this week to get a final confirmation for the movie time and final arrangements.  A flyer will be distributed on February 13 or 14th with additional admission coupons.  Dave is going to see if Bob can get signs up in the neighborhood as well. Board members should be at the grill at 1:pm (time to be confirmed later) to greet neighbors and take attendance.

4.         The Neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at 7 p.m. At the Jewish Community Center.

5.         Mary Ann reported on the progress of the petition for a traffic calming study.  A sample draft of the petition was passed out for members to review.  David Johnston led a discussion on the elements of a traffic calming programs in other communities.  He suggested that we find out who our city councilman is and elicit their help in promoting this proposal.   (We are in council district 2 and our councilman is Dr. Beurt Servass.)  David Johnston will be assisting Mary Ann with organizing the petition.

6.         Mary Ann reported that she is waiting for additional information from the MCSD regarding dispatches to 1313 Oakwood Trail.  Once the information has been retrieved Scott and David Kirch will be contacting the homeowner to discuss possible solutions to the problem.

7.          David Kirch reported through Scott that he has received 55 dues payments and 50 completed questionnaires.

8.         Mary Ann will investigate the process to make the new logo created by John Carter to become the official seal.  We may need to record it with the county and we may need to have John sign a release so that the seal will be the property of the association.

9.         The board extended our congratulations to Ken Zweigel on the newly renovated website.  Great Job Ken!

10.   Davis homes is having another meet at Christ Church Apostolic to get more releases from the homeowners whose property is part of the restrictive covenants.  Scott reported that the land sale has been completed and Davis plans to break ground in the spring.

11.   Scott reminded all of the board members to begin collecting articles for the next newsletter.

12.   Discussion regarding the recent power failures on Shawnee.  David Johnston has been in contact with IPL.

13.   Discussion about the drainage easement going through the properties between Shawnee and Oakwood Trail.  David Johnston has walked the length of the easement. He noted that while some homeowners have kept the area clear, there are a number of properties where tree limbs and grass cutting have been dumped into the ditch. The dumping of yard debris into the ditch creates a dam effect that leads to standing water and mosquitoes in the summer.  No amount of spraying will alleviate the problem because the debris filled ditch provides a perfect breeding ground for insects and rodents.  David will research to see if the city has any responsibility for the maintenance of the ditch and will report back at

the next board meeting.

14.   Several board members suggested that organizing a plant swap might be a good spring activity that could coincide with the neighborhood clean up and garage sale.  This will be discussed at the next board meeting.

Meeting concluded at 8:20 p.m.

Minutes respectfully submitted by Mary Ann Nowlin
