Minutes
for Delaware Trails Board Meeting of February 19, 2001
Meeting
called to order at 7:15 p.m.
Minutes
were read from last meeting and approved as read.
Present
were Jeff Pitts, Ken Zweigel, Andy Richardson, Mary Ann Nowlin, Nancy Pennington
and Bob Stedron
1> Announced the 2/28 meeting with Davis Homes regarding plans for adjoining development. This is the first informational meeting and it was felt the Board should attend and represent the neighborhood as well as the residents bordering on the new development. This meeting will be held at the JCC and Board members are strongly urged to attend.
2>
Read/reviewed
“Team Vocabulary” handout. All good
ideas and applicable to our communication process. Will take some practice to develop these habits, but we will try.
3>
Jeff
Pitts presented a draft of a letter regarding a discount on dues for Hoover
Road residents. The feeling was that
due to lack of snow removal for those houses, dues should/could be discounted. This notion kindled much discussion. Should there be a discount? How much discount? Are we setting an unwanted precedent? Do the Hoover Road people even care? Lots and lots of discussion.
Finally decided to include them as members for regular dues amount
because the snow removal is only a small part of association benefits.
4>
The
Hoover Road residents will receive a note stating “You are a valued member of
the Association” and invited to join at the $30 level. Exact verbiage will come from Jeff/Ken. Ken will handle questions/complaints.
5>
We
must consider how to “pass the torch” to the next group of Board Members. We have to keep the momentum going. Beside the staggered elections, how can we
facilitate the push ahead?
6>
We
will investigate possible grant money from “Washington Township Beautification”
for bridge and front entrance landscaping.
7>
Dues
collection program outline was passed out.
We will discuss this program next meeting.
8>
We
still need a system of making Realtors aware of our existence and expectations.
Meeting
adjourned at 9:15 p.m. Next meeting at
Ann’s house March 12, 2001.
Respectfully
submitted,
Bob
Stedron
