Minutes of January Meeting as follows:
1. Approved board meeting minutes are to be sent to Ken Zweigel for inclusion to the DTCA Website and sent to all board members.
2. The first choice for the board is to show My Big Fat Greek Wedding at the February 9th afternoon at the movies. The final selection depends on availability. Annette Byers will coordinate with Movie Grill.
3. The Board reviewed options for bulk mailing of our communications to residents. It was determined that the additional postal regulations and time involved in preparing bulk mailings do not justify the cost savings. The DTCA will continue to use first class mail for our communications.
4. Plans for the neighborhood garage sale will include signs placed at strategic intersections by April 23rd. The cost of classified ads will be researched by Annette Byers and ads will be placed in the Indianapolis Star and the Topics Papers.
5. The Fall Pitch In, formerly known as Pie Fest will be moved to September 20th from noon to 2: oopm. The Board will provide meat and drinks with everyone encouraged to bring their favorite dish.
6. The Board as a quorum will issue a general statement regarding qualifications for membership as our understanding of the DTCA bylaws.
7. The neighborhood calming survey requires about 150 signatures for city to begin the process. To date, 45 have been obtained. The Board will canvass the neighborhood for signatures and at the same time recruit for block captains on those streets where they are needed.
8. The Board discussed the need and duties of the block captains. It was suggested to include the block captains in the board meetings. Mack Blackburn is to find out from Jeff Raymond the original duties of the block captains.
9. New arrivals to the neighborhood are the Gold’s at 6911 Mohawk, the Schuesterman’s at 1112 Oakwood Trail and the Thompson’s at 1038 Oakwood Trail.
10. The DTCA will discuss having a raffle to support “fireman Jim”. The proceeds from the raffle will go to purchase a tree to be planted in his honor.
11. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm.
12. Corrections to the December 4th 2002 minutes.
a. Volunteer clean up days are May 16th and May 17th with more information in the January newsletter.
b. The cost of snow removal was corrected to say that the rate is $85 per hour with a surcharge of $10 per hour if the price of gasoline is $1.50 or more.
Respectfully submitted by Secretary David Berghoff
