Minutes from Delaware Trails Neighborhood Meeting  9/25/01

Meeting called to order at 7:05pm

Minutes were read from Spring ’01 meeting and approved as read.

1>          Many neighbors voiced their happiness with the landscape effort at the Hoover Road entrance.  Nicely Done!

2>          Regarding dues:  84% of households have paid to date.  We will collect a few more.

3>          Davis Homes update:  NO MUNSEE ENTRANCE/EXIT.  138 houses with a sizable landscape buffer.  Since the overall neighborhood concern has been resolved, Davis Homes will proceed to meet with individual contiguous homeowners.  Signing off on the restrictive covenants is necessary, but the ball is now squarely in Davis’ court.

4>          An appeal to neighbors to sign up on the e-mail sheet.  Very effective communication tool.

5>          The Board encouraged neighbors to use the retail establishments that advertise in our directory.  This is a revenue stream for us and our advertisers deserve our support.

6>          Crime Watch update:  reviewed 1501 Oakwood Trail break-in (through unlocked window).  Reviewed Mintz car fire incident (car in driveway set on fire).  Car driving across lawns (minor in comparison but really aggravating)

7>          There was vocal comment from floor that we need to recommit to crime control.  Maybe something new?  Maybe spend some significant dollars.

8>          There was vocal comment from the floor that speeding traffic is a great concern.  Are speed bumps the answer?  Straw poll showed 40 out of 51 households present approved the investigation of speed bumps.

9>          Lots of support regarding cleanup Dumpsters the next two weekends.

10>     The 2001 Pie Fest will take place October 14th.  Please join us.

11>     The Board will get Operation Nite Light back on track.  Now that Davis Homes is behind us, back to regular program!

12>     Elections for Board Positions:  Thanks to Jeff Pitts, Ken Zweigel, Nancy Pennington and Ann Bevilacqua for two years of wonderful work.  Four positions open:

                        Johns Carter, Scott Dennison, David

Kirch and Suzanne Smith were elected.

13>     Jeff Pitts urged neighborhood to share thought and feelings with the Board.  The Board is there to act in the best interests of the homeowners; communication is key.

14>     There were comments from floor regarding dog poop issue.  People, please be responsible for your dog.

15>     Concern from floor regarding need for grates on storm drains.  Some large enough for child to crawl through.

16>     Comment from floor regarding new stop signs. Well Done!

17>     Idea from floor regarding Winter Event.  How about an event at the Cinema Grill?  Movie and food.  Beat the blues.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm

Respectfully submitted,
